Answers
Basic Information
When is BrainShare?
We will host BrainShare February 3-7, 2013.
Where is BrainShare?
BrainShare 2013 will take place at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
How do I get directions to the convention center?
The Salt Palace Convention Center is located at:
100 S. West Temple
Salt Lake City, UT 84101
For maps and further directions, please visit www.saltpalace.com.
Where do I go when I arrive at the convention center?
You will need to check in at the registration area in Hall E of the Salt Palace Convention Center, where you'll receive your BrainShare badge and all your conference materials.
How can I make discounted hotel and travel arrangements?
We have negotiated discounted rates with downtown Salt Lake City hotels in what is known as the BrainShare room block. Please book a room at one of these hotels when you have completed the conference registration process. The earlier you register the better your chance of getting the hotel and room of your choice. For BrainShare hotel information see the hotel information page.
The Salt Lake City (SLC) International Airport is a major Delta hub, but it also services many other commercial airlines. This makes getting to Salt Lake City quite easy. Taxis are available at the airport and some hotels offer shuttle services. Should you want to make individual transportation arrangements to and from the airport, you may make your reservations here.
Do I have to stay in the BrainShare hotel room block, or can I choose my own hotel?
No, you do not have to stay in the BrainShare room block, but you will find that the BrainShare negotiated rates are comparable with others in the area and in some cases are cheaper. Keep in mind that we only provide shuttle transportation between hotels and the conference center for hotels in the BrainShare room block.
What will the weather be like?
Winter weather in Salt Lake City is generally cold and often snowy, which is why the local skiing is so good. Average temperatures in February in Salt Lake City range from a high of 44 degrees Fahrenheit (7 Celsius) to a low of 31 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 Celsius). Generally, expect snow on the ground and cold nights. For more specific information on area weather, check the local weather.
What are my dining options in Salt Lake City?
We provide lots of food at BrainShare, but if you want to dine out, you'll find many pleasant options. The area around the convention center and hotels is full of restaurants, including both fine and casual dining, Mexican restaurants, Italian bistros with impressive wine lists, local brewpubs with great food and a surprising number of excellent sushi restaurants.
